SkillUp Africa Community
Terms of use
What you agree to when you join, what we undertake to do, and what happens when either side does not keep to it.
Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between you and Euidem Foundation, of C-Villa Resorts, Lekki Scheme II, Ogombo Road, Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, Lagos State, Nigeria. It is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Using the platform means you accept it.
Who can join
Membership is open to people aged 18 and over. Someone aged 16 or 17 may take part only through an approved SkillUp Africa programme, with a guardian's consent, and with access limited to that programme. Nobody under 16 may hold an account.
Your account
- Give us details that are true, and keep them current.
- The account is yours alone. Do not share the password or let somebody else use it.
- Tell us if you think somebody else has got into it.
- You can end your membership whenever you want.
What we ask of you
Use the platform for learning and for taking part in the community. Do not use it to harass, threaten or deceive anybody; to sell things; to recruit for something that is not what it claims; to copy course material out for someone who has not enrolled; or to attack the platform or get at accounts and data that are not yours. The Community guidelines say what this means in practice, and they are part of this agreement.
What belongs to whom
Courses, lessons, assessments and the platform itself belong to Euidem Foundation or to the people we licensed them from. You may use them to learn. You may not republish, resell or redistribute them.
What you write stays yours. By posting it here you give us permission to show it to the members it was meant for, and to keep showing it while it remains part of a conversation. You can edit or delete your own writing; a reply somebody else wrote to it stays theirs.
What a certificate means
A certificate from SkillUp Africa records that you completed a course. It says you did the work the course asked for and met its stated requirements. It is not a verification of professional competency, a qualification, an accreditation, or a statement that any employer should treat it as one. Anyone can check that a certificate is genuine at our verification page, which shows only what the certificate itself records.
What we undertake, and what we do not
We will run the platform with reasonable care and keep it available as best we can, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We do not promise that completing a course will get you a job, a promotion or any particular result: that depends on you, on the people hiring, and on a great deal we do not control.
When we suspend or end an account
We can restrict your posting, remove something you wrote, or close your account, where you have broken these terms or the guidelines, or where somebody's safety requires it. Except in the most serious cases we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply. We do not do this because somebody disagreed with you or because a group of people reported you.
Changes to this agreement
We may change these terms. Where the change matters we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use the platform after that is how you accept it. If you do not accept it, you can close your account.
